HI, I have been a moderator in your county for the past 4 years, and I love it! Not only can I get rid of things that are no longer useful to us, But I can also ask for things that I am looking for. Now our county does not allow Offers or Wanted on animals, we also dont allow wish lists at Christmas because we have over 3000 members, if we did it would get overwhelming and this is mainly to keep things out of the landfill.

How long have you been disabled? You can get Medicare from Social Security, It use to be 2 years on disability before eligible, but that would help with doctors and presciptions, Also Walgreens has a program for people without insurance for like 10.00 a month.

We also lost our medicaid thanks to our governor. thank god he is almost out of office!

We did have Personal Injury Lawyers, last one was a worksman comp lawyer, With the others who are effected, we cant get the information on them due to them being in a Union, I will talk to our lawyer about Class Action suit. Good Idea!

Tyvm for the kind words, I know that is how we have made it this far. I never give up my faith even times are hard, because I know he is watching over us.

I think anyone who is needing help, should prove it, I have absolute no problems showing all my bills, my income, whatever they need.  If you go to Salvation Army, they want to see all documentations before any help. This way you know you are helping someone who actually needs the help and not just being greedy.

This summers economy really hurt alot of people, especially the gas prices, I know we were paying 200 more a month for gas than we are now with the lower prices, The Electric company also raises there rates here in MO in the summer, so our electric bill is triple. ( also because we have to run air 24/7). Even on our Trash, we pay for the Gas for our Trash trucks, which enraged me, I have enough problems with money for my own vehicle and now we have to pay gas for the Trash truck? Water Bills go up in Summer.

I just want to get thru Christmas, and make sure my kids and Grandkids have presents, I called our local Salvation Army, they wont help teenagers, and thats ME, they dont care, but this is one time that I want my kids to be excited, surprised, and my 4 1/2 year old grandaughter is already going thru the Wish Book. How can I disappoint someone like that! I cant, I have a heart of gold. Also all 3 of my girls birthdays, are within 3 weeks of Christmas! Two are having special birthdays, 25 and 16, the other one will be 17.

Im sure the first of the year we will file for Bankruptcy to get out from under all these and just start over. We have learned the mistakes we have made, I cant do nothing about recurring medical bills, but other goofs I made, I know never to do again no matter what.

After going thru 3 lawyers, first 2 did nothing, Not even telling us we could get Workmans Comp. The last one tried, but the statue of limitations ran out. Might have been different if the first lawyer tried that first.  Here's the thing with Boeing and GKN, When my husband starting getting pneumonia the first 2 times, The bosses there knew exactly what was going on, We didnt. They fired him. Basically first 2 lawyers stated we would have to wait until he died, have a autopsy, when that showed the lubricant mist in his lungs, then we would have a case.  Because he was a previous smoker, basically going after them at that time, they said they were going to say it was from smoking. He was perfectly healthy before working there.

We also knew how many other workers have lost their lives and disabled from the same thing, the lubricant mist in the Machine shop, especially in the summer when it got to 130 degrees and you saw a cloud of mist cover the entire building. I personally believe OSHA was paid off. I remember one time where they were painting the building inside, once again no face masks were given to him, He coughed up blew paint for almost 2 weeks.

We were told by a engineer who works for Boeing that after 3 years the lubricant disappears out of the lungs, but the damage is irreversible. So when he dies, and they do a autopsy ( since he is still in his 40's they automatically do one) they will not find the lubricant or what caused it.

So basically there is nothing we can do. He is not the first nor will he be the last to have this happen. Their big corporate lawyers have got this thing worked out that only Boeing and GKN win, the little people who dont know the dangers of working there are the ones who lose.

I have been a Moderator in Freecycle for the last 4 years, This is a great service for people who need or want to give things away, I have given away some very nice things to help someone and also have gotten things I have needed.

Freecycle is thru the USA, Just go to google, www.freecycle.org and put in your zip code and you will find the one closest to where you live. The only thing we do now allow is Offer or Wanteds on Animals, anything that breathes! (including teenagers :) 

HI, i found this page a few weeks ago, I feel the same way as you, how many really do have funds or dont need the help that they say they really do, to take advantage of others.

Just to let you know about us, Neither are alcoholics, drug abuse, just scrapping by. I have been disabled since 1992, from severe aniexty and panic attacks, I have had a reaction to all meds except Xanax, the other meds for Aniexty slow my heart to much, I almost died twice from overdose by a physician. My husband inhaled lubricant from where he worked, developed double pneumonia for 7 months, he is in the final stages on COPD now. We tried to go after the company he worked for ( Boeing) for not having safety equipment so they dont inhale the lubricant mist, After 3 years the actual mist chemical is out of the lungs but the damage is irreversible. This has been 6 years, lots of drugs and oxygen, We take everyday as our last, because we never know when his last day is. We have been married almost 26 years and have 4 children, 2 grandchildren..

We lost our house, We lost our car, Luckily the man who bought our house let us stay here and go Thru NECAC until his disability came thru, We have learn to scrap by, from garage sales, to ebay, I buy my kids clothes and anything we need at Garage Sales, ( except toliet paper)! You just learn to live without.

Well this June our son got married, this is where we got into trouble. It was a very large wedding, we were responsible for quite a bit, my son helped, her parents paid the majority, but living on disability there is nothing extra.. I tried to get a personal loan for disabled people, there is none! So we did Payday loans, BIG MISTAKE, and it ruined us. I personally think Payday Loans should be illegal, The Economy this summer with Gas at 4.00 a more a gallon killed us, We have a Dodge Durango ( 9 years old) it gets 7 miles to the gallon. We tried to trade it in for something smaller, nobody wanted it, even tho its in excellent shape, We pay higher interest rates because we are disabled, 18% just on a auto loan, more on Car Insurance, even tho we have never had a accident or ticket.

I came to this page looking for help for Christmas, because that is one special time your kids look forward to, and to find a personal loan that I can consolidate all my bills into one and have 1 payment per month. I dont want it for free, I want to pay it back.

Most of the sites I see on Google are scams, for help. especially for grants, there is none to help individuals, just businesses or organizations..

Does anyone know of any help in MO for Dental and Eye Vision for people without insurance? I read the stories on here, I think this one of the hardest hit years for most of us, Including me, Of course no extra money for things we need. Also looking for a Bill Consildation Loan that is NOT a payday loan, for people with bad credit. We are both on disability.

I have never done this before, and dont know where to go. My Husband is in the final stages of COPD, he contacted Lung Disease from inhaling lubricant mist from where he worked. We have battled with them and lost as the lubricant disappears after 3 years even tho the damage is permanent.  I am also disabled with Agoraphobia for the past 15 years. I am looking a for a personal loan to consolidate medical bills, christmas help, ( We have 4 kids, 2 grandkids). Just not sure where do go. Rarely do people loan to people who are disabled. Anyone have any ideas?
